The Opportunity:

A Before and After School Club Playworker is needed to support children aged 4 to 11 during term time. This role involves planning and delivering engaging activities in a safe and caring environment, aligned with the school’s mission of love to learn, learn to love.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver a variety of creative and educational activities for children before and after school.
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of all children during club sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with the existing team of playworkers to maintain a consistent and positive environment.
  • Support the school’s values and ethos by modeling respect, responsibility, and kindness.
  • Supervise and manage children in a structured and engaging way.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and staff to ensure a smooth and effective service.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
  • Assist with the set-up and tidy-up of the club space before and after each session.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the values of respect, responsibility, and care.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
  • Flexibility to work term time only and during the specified hours.

Preferred

  • Experience in a playwork or youth development role.
  • Knowledge of child development and inclusive practices.
  • First Aid or similar qualifications.
  • Experience with delivering structured activities for children.
