Behaviour Support Worker needed to promote positive behaviour and support students in a dynamic school environment.

The Opportunity:

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting students, and ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the school’s behaviour policy and strategies.
  • Work with individual students and small groups to address behavioural challenges.
  • Assist in de-escalating incidents and managing behaviour in line with school procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and success.
  • Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff, and families to develop behaviour plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions and incidents.
  • Promote a culture of respect, resilience, and responsibility throughout the school.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on behaviour management strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding practices.
  • Emotional resilience, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.

Preferred

  • Experience in behaviour support or pastoral care roles.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based behaviour management approaches.
  • Experience working with students with complex needs.
