The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Biology and Environmental Science Teacher to join our Science faculty from September 2026. This role offers the chance to inspire students, teach up to A Level, and contribute to a dynamic and innovative learning community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology and Environmental Science across Years 7 to 13, including A Level.
  • Create engaging and collaborative learning environments that promote active student participation.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that reflect the school’s academic standards and Catholic ethos.
  • Support students’ personal and academic development through pastoral and co-curricular involvement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities, including games, service, and music, as part of the school’s holistic approach to education.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to a tutor group, including PSHEE lessons and house duties.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the Science faculty.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Biology and Environmental Science.
  • Ability to teach up to A Level, with a strong grasp of the subject matter.
  • Commitment to the school’s Benedictine Catholic ethos and values.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to take on pastoral and co-curricular responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding school environment.
  • Background in academic enrichment and leadership within a Science department.
  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum and Oxbridge entrance requirements.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
