The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to join our Science Faculty and support the academic and personal growth of students across all key stages. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a high-performing, inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that support student progress and achievement in Biology.
  • Plan and implement effective assessment and intervention strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Science curriculum in line with school standards and objectives.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and student behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across phases to enhance interdisciplinary learning and student outcomes.
  • Engage with parents and external agencies as appropriate to support student welfare and development.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and performance management processes.
  • Support the school’s mission and values, including commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and character education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Proven experience in teaching Biology at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong knowledge of the Biology curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that promote student progress.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a Science department.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience working in a multi-faith, inclusive educational setting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
