The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to deliver engaging and challenging lessons to girls across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on students' learning and to work within a supportive and innovative department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Biology lessons to Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students, with a focus on creativity and collaboration.
  • Design and implement challenging and thought-provoking curricula in line with the school’s teaching standards.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic results, with a particular emphasis on GCSE and A Level Biology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Science department and wider school community.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities, including GDST-wide initiatives.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students to enhance their learning experience.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and pastoral support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Biology or Science teaching.
  • Experience teaching Science in Key Stage 3 and 4, and A Level Biology.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to create engaging and challenging lessons.
  • Commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with combined science curricula in Key Stage 3.
  • Experience working with ECTs or a willingness to support new teachers.
  • Familiarity with the GDST and its teaching and learning initiatives.
  • Experience with pastoral support and student guidance.
