The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to deliver engaging and challenging lessons to girls across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on students' learning and to work within a supportive and innovative department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Biology lessons to Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students, with a focus on creativity and collaboration.
- Design and implement challenging and thought-provoking curricula in line with the school’s teaching standards.
- Support students in achieving excellent academic results, with a particular emphasis on GCSE and A Level Biology.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Science department and wider school community.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities, including GDST-wide initiatives.
- Provide individualised support and guidance to students to enhance their learning experience.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and pastoral support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Biology or Science teaching.
- Experience teaching Science in Key Stage 3 and 4, and A Level Biology.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to create engaging and challenging lessons.
- Commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with combined science curricula in Key Stage 3.
- Experience working with ECTs or a willingness to support new teachers.
- Familiarity with the GDST and its teaching and learning initiatives.
- Experience with pastoral support and student guidance.
