Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology to students across a range of key stages, ensuring a stimulating and engaging learning environment.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, innovative lesson plans aligned with curriculum requirements.
  • Support students in achieving their academic potential through individualized guidance and pastoral care.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
  • Engage in regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Biology or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching Biology at the secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the life sciences.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience with Early Career Teachers (ECTs) or a commitment to supporting professional development.
  • Experience in a boarding school or similar educational environment.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
