The Opportunity:
As a Boarding Houseparent, you will be responsible for creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students during weekends and beyond. This role is crucial in ensuring the well-being and development of students in a boarding setting, with opportunities to expand your involvement throughout the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support students during evenings and weekends, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, addressing their emotional and social needs.
- Organize and oversee a range of evening and weekend activities that promote student engagement and development.
- Maintain open communication with parents, staff, and senior leadership to ensure a cohesive approach to student care.
- Foster a positive and inclusive boarding environment that encourages personal growth and community spirit.
- Assist with the management of boarding house operations, including room checks, meal times, and routines.
- Support the school’s mission by promoting the 4Cs: creativity, curiosity, commitment, and community.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and welfare policies at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications or previous experience working in a school environment.
- A caring, responsible, and professional attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and potentially additional hours during the week.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in a boarding or residential care setting.
- Knowledge of child development and pastoral care.
- Experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative in student support.
