The Opportunity:
As a Boarding Pastoral Support Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the wellbeing, personal development, and day-to-day care of boarding students. This role is essential in maintaining a nurturing environment that empowers students to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the wellbeing and personal development of boarding students through daily pastoral care.
- Work collaboratively with Houseparents and the wider pastoral team to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
- Implement and contribute to the development of pastoral practices and initiatives within an international boarding school setting.
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment that prioritises student safety and safeguarding.
- Assist in the organisation of extracurricular activities and events that foster student engagement and community spirit.
- Provide guidance and support to students in both academic and personal matters.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and other staff members to ensure a cohesive support network for students.
- Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing, ensuring timely interventions where necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience of working with young people in a boarding school setting.
- A genuine commitment to pastoral care and safeguarding.
- An understanding of, and interest in, contributing to the development of pastoral practices and initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Preferred
- Experience in an international educational environment.
- Familiarity with the IB or similar curricula.
- Experience with student wellbeing programmes or initiatives.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
