The Opportunity:

As a BTEC International Standards Verifier, you will ensure that assessment and internal verification practices meet national standards, supporting centres in maintaining the integrity of vocational qualifications. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about quality assurance and committed to upholding high standards in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with national standards and Pearson policies during verification activities.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to centres on assessment and verification practices.
  • Conduct sampling and verification activities, delivering constructive feedback to centres.
  • Review learner work and internal verification records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Produce comprehensive sampling reports with actionable insights.
  • Communicate clearly when standards are not met and outline corrective actions.
  • Assist centres in implementing improvements and maintaining compliance.
  • Stay up to date with qualification specifications and national occupational standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong background in quality assurance and assessment practices.
  • Experience in verifying regulated qualifications.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver and coordinate training sessions.
  • Minimum of one full academic year of teaching experience in the relevant subject area/sector within the last 8 years.
  • Relevant CPD evidence in the subject area/sector within the last 12 months.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in the subject area/sector.
  • A UK recognised teaching qualification.

Preferred

  • Experience with BTEC qualifications or similar vocational frameworks.
  • Experience with centre visits and verification processes.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience with data privacy and security protocols.
  • Demonstrated leadership or support roles in quality assurance activities.
