The Opportunity:

As a BTEC International Standards Verifier, you will ensure the quality and consistency of vocational qualifications, supporting centres in meeting national standards and contributing to the ongoing development of quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify assessment and internal verification practices to ensure compliance with national standards.
  • Provide expert subject-specific support and guidance to centres.
  • Conduct sampling and verification activities, delivering clear and constructive feedback.
  • Review learner work and internal verification records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Produce comprehensive and actionable sampling reports for each centre visited.
  • Communicate when standards are not met and outline corrective actions.
  • Assist centres in addressing issues and implementing improvements.
  • Maintain regular communication with Pearson supervisors and internal teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong background in quality assurance and assessment practices.
  • Experience in verifying regulated qualifications.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver and coordinate training sessions.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant qualification specifications and national standards.
  • Minimum of one full academic year of teaching experience in the relevant subject area/sector within the last 8 years.
  • Relevant CPD evidence in the subject area/sector within the last 12 months.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in the subject area/sector.
  • A UK recognised teaching qualification.

Preferred

  • Experience with BTEC qualifications or similar vocational qualifications.
  • Experience in conducting centre visits and verification activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership or support roles in quality assurance activities.
  • Familiarity with Pearson's assessment and quality assurance processes.
