The Opportunity:

As a Business Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the strategic and operational success of the school. This is a vital position that ensures the smooth running of the academy’s business functions, enabling staff and students to focus on delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic financial management of the academy, overseeing the finance team, health and safety, and external contracts
  • Manage whole school and departmental budgets, ensuring accurate financial reporting to SLT and trustees
  • Oversee premises management, ensuring that facilities are maintained to the highest standards
  • Line manage the site and finance and payroll teams, promoting a high standard of business ethos
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic decisions that impact the academy’s performance
  • Ensure the most effective use of resources in line with the school’s performance objectives and development priorities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Business Management Accreditation and extensive experience in this area
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Financially astute with extensive experience managing budgets and contracts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a senior leadership team
  • Experience in managing teams and delivering high-quality administrative support

Preferred

  • Experience with educational institutions or similar organisations
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Experience in managing external contracts and suppliers
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
