The Opportunity:
As a Business Manager, you will provide strategic leadership across finance, estates, HR, and support services, playing a key role in driving operational excellence and long-term sustainability. This is a senior leadership position within a high-performing and forward-thinking institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of finance, estates, HR, compliance, IT, and support services.
- Provide strategic leadership and ensure the delivery of operational excellence across the school.
- Support capital planning and identify opportunities to enhance commercial income and long-term sustainability.
- Strengthen cross-school communication and collaboration with senior leadership and operational managers.
- Line-manage key department heads and ensure alignment with the school’s strategic goals and values.
- Work closely with the Head and Group Bursar to deliver on financial and operational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the school’s mission and vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within an educational institution.
- Strong financial, analytical, and commercial acumen.
- Experience in managing large teams and multiple departments.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic leadership and drive operational excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of compliance, health and safety, and HR best practices.
Preferred
- Experience in a co-educational or independent school setting.
- Knowledge of capital planning and financial management in the education sector.
- Experience with marketing, admissions, and external relations.
- Familiarity with elite sports provision and co-curricular activities.
- Experience in managing international students and a diverse community.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £60,000–£65,000.
