The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Business Teacher to join our Humanities Faculty and contribute to the academic and personal development of students across a range of courses and age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Business, including A-level, SQA Higher/Advanced Higher, and BTEC Enterprise & Entrepreneurship.
  • Support pupils in developing the skills necessary for success in Business courses.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school and Faculty policies.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, resources, and teaching strategies within the Business context.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment with high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in enrichment activities, clubs, and events.
  • Engage in continual professional reflection to enhance teaching practice and support departmental improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree in Business or a closely related discipline.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching Business at A Level.
  • Experience of teaching SQA Higher and Advanced Higher Business.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments.
  • Evidence of consistently high-quality teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching BTEC Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
  • Familiarity with the AQA A-Level specifications.
  • Experience of using technology effectively to enhance learning.
  • Experience of contributing to departmental development or curriculum innovation.
