The Opportunity:

As a Careers Advisor, you will be instrumental in helping students explore their future options and achieve their goals. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and support them on their journey to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised guidance to students through one-to-one and small group interviews, helping them explore career and education aspirations.
  • Research and promote suitable career routes, helping students identify and consider various options.
  • Identify skills gaps and collaborate with the Employability Skills Coordinator to develop skill enhancement plans.
  • Create and implement action plans for employment, education, and training to support student success.
  • Support students with special educational needs, ensuring their learning and career progression is addressed effectively.
  • Manage the careers library and provide advice on CVs, applications, and interview techniques.
  • Promote the interactive careers Google site, apprenticeship program, and Post-16/19 training providers.
  • Coordinate careers events and maintain the Compass+ tracker to meet benchmark requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development or equivalent
  • Experience in providing career advice to students
  • Familiarity with Bromcom and Compass+ systems
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience with careers planning and student support initiatives
  • Knowledge of the Gatsby Benchmarks
  • Experience in managing resources and promoting careers-related activities
