The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Careers Counsellor with a secondary teaching subject to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in guiding students through their academic and career journeys, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future. The successful candidate will have a strong impact on student outcomes and contribute to the school's mission of empowering every child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver careers guidance programs aligned with the British National Curriculum and/or Cambridge.
- Provide individual and group career counselling to support students in making informed decisions about their academic and professional paths.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to integrate careers education across the curriculum.
- Organize and lead career-related events, workshops, and activities for students and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, guidance sessions, and outcomes.
- Support students in applying for further education, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
- Stay up to date with developments in education, careers, and employment sectors.
- Act as a mentor and advocate for students, promoting their personal and academic growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- A certified teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS with an Induction Certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience, preferably with experience in the British National Curriculum and/or Cambridge.
- Formal teaching qualifications (QTS or equivalent) and at least two years of teaching experience.
- Exceptional subject knowledge in a secondary teaching subject.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (EAL).
- International teaching experience.
- A passion for fostering a pupil-focused learning environment.
- A commitment to professional growth and a collaborative approach to teaching.
- A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.
- A commitment to actively participate in extracurricular activities after school hours.
