The Opportunity:

As a Careers Lead, you will play a vital role in shaping the school’s careers strategy and supporting students through key transitions. You will lead a comprehensive careers programme, ensuring it aligns with the school’s mission and statutory requirements, while providing individualised guidance and fostering strong external partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and develop the school’s Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) provision.
  • Deliver a personalised careers programme for Key Stages 4 and 5, including one-to-one guidance sessions.
  • Coordinate careers-related events, employer engagement initiatives, and work experience opportunities.
  • Monitor the impact of the careers programme and track student destinations.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, teaching staff, and external partners to ensure a cohesive and effective approach.
  • Support staff development in relation to careers guidance and professional practice.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidance and maintain high standards of provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in delivering careers guidance and related programmes.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating the impact of careers provision.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of statutory guidance on careers education.
  • Experience with employer engagement and work experience coordination.
  • Familiarity with co-educational settings or transitioning schools.
