The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage the school’s buildings, grounds, and facilities to the highest standard.
  • Carry out general maintenance, cleaning, and repair tasks as required.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the school premises and its occupants.
  • Assist with the setup and management of school events and activities.
  • Liaise with other staff members to support the smooth running of the school.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of buildings and facilities.
  • Undertake routine inspections and maintenance of equipment and systems.
  • Support the school’s commitment to sustainability and environmental best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a caretaker or estates role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong practical skills in maintenance, cleaning, and repair tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Preferred

  • Experience with health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of building management systems and maintenance software.
  • Previous experience in a large, multi-site organization.
  • Understanding of sustainability and environmental practices.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £26,400 per annum (£13.72 per hour) plus a monthly call-out allowance.
