A school is seeking a Casual Lifeguard to join its holiday club during school breaks. This role is ideal for those looking to gain experience working with children in a fun and engaging environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children during swimming and other water-based activities.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols at all times.
- Provide first aid and emergency response when required.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and facilities.
- Support and supervise children during games and other recreational activities.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all participants.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children.
- Keep accurate records of attendance and any incidents.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Current and valid lifeguard qualification.
- Up-to-date first aid and water safety training.
- Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one via the DBS Update Service).
- Experience working with children in a supervisory role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or holiday club setting.
- Knowledge of child development and behaviour management.
- Familiarity with the Duke of Edinburgh Award or similar programs.
- Experience with outdoor and recreational activities.
