The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a Casual Lifeguard to join its holiday club during school breaks. This role is ideal for those looking to gain experience working with children in a fun and engaging environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children during swimming and other water-based activities.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols at all times.
  • Provide first aid and emergency response when required.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and facilities.
  • Support and supervise children during games and other recreational activities.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all participants.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance and any incidents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Current and valid lifeguard qualification.
  • Up-to-date first aid and water safety training.
  • Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one via the DBS Update Service).
  • Experience working with children in a supervisory role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or holiday club setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and behaviour management.
  • Familiarity with the Duke of Edinburgh Award or similar programs.
  • Experience with outdoor and recreational activities.
