The Opportunity:

As a casual maths tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in a disadvantaged community. You will provide tailored maths tuition to GCSE level, helping students achieve academic success and build confidence in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective maths tuition to students at GCSE level.
  • Support students in developing a strong understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Manage classroom behaviour to ensure a productive learning environment.
  • Stay up to date with the latest curriculum specifications and exam requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to enhance student outcomes.
  • Provide clear and confident explanations of complex topics.
  • Develop strong relationships with students to encourage motivation and progress.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of inspiring leadership and character development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level qualification at grades A* to B.
  • Ability to teach maths up to GCSE level.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Knowledge of current maths curriculum and specifications.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring maths.
  • Experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with Star Academies or similar educational organisations.
  • Commitment to student welfare and personal development.
