The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to support the school’s food service operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students and staff. The Catering Assistant will contribute to the smooth running of the school’s catering services, working closely with the team to deliver quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food in line with health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and staff room environment.
- Assist with food preparation and storage according to COSHH regulations.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Support the team in delivering a high-quality catering service.
- Undertake training to improve skills and meet the evolving needs of the school.
- Work flexibly to meet the demands of a continuously improving organisation.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience working with children aged 11-16 in an education setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A conscientious and diligent work ethic with high standards of service.
- Understanding of health and safety and COSHH regulations.
- Ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
- Flexibility to work across different shifts and duties.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience with food preparation and service in a school setting.
