The Opportunity:
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering healthy and high-quality meals to students, staff, and visitors. This is a key position within the school, contributing to the overall well-being and success of the student community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve healthy, high-quality meals to students, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment in line with food safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with the catering team to ensure efficient and effective meal service.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with the storage and organisation of food supplies and equipment.
- Support the delivery of meals in line with the school’s nutritional guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff to address any dietary requirements or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all food hygiene regulations and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience in a catering or food service role.
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Food Hygiene.
- Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Preferred
- Experience working in an educational setting or with young people.
- Knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus 2 days.
