The Opportunity:
As a Catering Assistant, you will contribute to a vital part of the school’s daily operations by ensuring students and staff are served nutritious, appealing meals. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, customer service, and maintaining high standards of food hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist in the setup, serving, and clearing of dining areas
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas
- Operate tills and manage food preparation tasks such as sandwich making
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to students and staff
- Support the school’s commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in food preparation or service, preferably in a school or catering environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety
Preferred
- Experience with Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations
- Previous experience working in a school setting
- Flexibility to work term time only with INSET days
