The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team and contribute to providing high-quality meals to students during term time. This role is ideal for someone with experience in catering and a passion for supporting student well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals in line with nutritional standards and school policies
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining areas at all times
- Assist with the management of food supplies and inventory
- Support the catering team in ensuring efficient service during meal times
- Follow health and safety procedures and food hygiene regulations
- Communicate effectively with students and staff to ensure a positive dining experience
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of catering equipment and facilities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the catering service
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience in catering or food service
- Basic food hygiene qualification
- Ability to work flexible hours during term time
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to health and safety standards
Preferred
- Experience working in a school environment
- Previous experience in a similar role within education
- Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary requirements
- Experience with food preparation and service in a busy environment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £21,404 - £21,888 per year
