The Opportunity:

As a Catering Manager, you will play a key role in delivering nutritious and appealing meals that support the health and wellbeing of students. You will lead a small team and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture that prioritizes student and staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the catering provision, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Plan and prepare menus that meet dietary needs, nutritional requirements, and budget constraints
  • Supervise and support kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations
  • Manage stock, monitor portion control, and maintain efficient kitchen operations
  • Maintain clean, hygienic, and well-presented kitchen and dining areas
  • Support the school’s wellbeing initiatives and promote healthy eating among students
  • Respond to urgent or last-minute service requirements with flexibility and professionalism

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in catering within an educational or similar setting
  • Experience in menu planning with a focus on nutrition and budget management
  • Management experience in a catering environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Experience in a school or special educational needs setting
  • Familiarity with COSHH regulations and kitchen management systems
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £19,000 - £21,000 per annum
