The Opportunity:

As a Catering Manager, you will lead a team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and well-being of students. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, efficient, and positive catering environment that aligns with the school's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for food preparation, storage, and distribution.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of quality ingredients.
  • Conduct monthly stock takes and manage orders through the Pelican Pi system.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Catering Manager to create balanced and nutritious menus that meet student dietary needs.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with health and safety standards using Food Alert software.
  • Support school events with catering services and manage vending machines effectively.
  • Communicate regularly with school leadership and stakeholders to address dietary concerns and improve services.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a catering or food service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and nutrition standards.
  • Experience in managing budgets and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Ability to develop and lead a team, promoting a positive and collaborative work culture.
  • Proficiency in using catering management systems such as Pelican Pi and Food Alert.

Preferred

  • Experience in school or educational catering environments.
  • Background in menu planning and dietary requirements management.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with budget monitoring and financial reporting.
