The Opportunity:
As a Catering Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing a fast-paced, high-volume catering operation within a unique educational setting. You will work closely with students and the Head Chef Lecturer to ensure seamless food production and service, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily food production and service in a busy college kitchen.
- Manage volume and pressure in a high-volume catering environment.
- Support student chefs in live training environments, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Ensure consistent quality and efficiency in all food service operations.
- Maintain professional standards and hygiene in line with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare mise en place for upcoming services to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef Lecturer to deliver a seamless catering experience.
- Monitor and manage inventory and stock levels effectively.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a fast-paced catering environment.
- Ability to manage high volume and pressure in a commercial kitchen setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Experience working with students in a training environment.
Preferred
- Previous experience in an educational or training institution.
- Experience in mentoring or supervising trainee chefs.
- Knowledge of menu planning and cost control.
- Flexibility to work term-time only and on early mornings.
