The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of high-quality meals in line with the school’s standards and dietary requirements.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure efficient and effective service during meals and events.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of special events and catering functions.
  • Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
  • Rotate shifts as required and be available for weekend and holiday work as part of the rota.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive working environment.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training and development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar kitchen role.
  • Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes.
  • Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or hospitality setting.
  • Creativity and the ability to bring new ideas to the kitchen.
  • Flexibility to work a rota-based schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of special dietary requirements and the ability to cater to them.
