The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Chemistry lessons to students across a range of ability levels.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school by participating in co-curricular activities and events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school's strong reputation in Chemistry.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure continued development.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
  • Support students in preparing for exams and university applications where appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience in Chemistry.
  • Experience of teaching in a school setting, preferably at the secondary level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities where needed.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching A-Level Chemistry.
  • Experience in a co-educational or boarding school environment.
  • Knowledge of modern teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
