Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons across the Junior and Senior Schools.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and departmental initiatives.
- Stay current with curriculum developments and innovative teaching practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning.
- Support the school’s commitment to internationalism and environmentalism through curriculum and co-curricular activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE or equivalent).
- Strong academic background in Chemistry, ideally with a second science.
- Experience in teaching or a willingness to be newly qualified.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration.
Preferred
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate or Scottish Qualifications.
- Background in outdoor learning or extracurricular leadership.
- Ability to contribute to a wide range of co-curricular and pastoral activities.
