Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons across the Junior and Senior Schools.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student achievement.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and departmental initiatives.
• Stay current with curriculum developments and innovative teaching practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning.
• Support the school’s commitment to internationalism and environmentalism through curriculum and co-curricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE or equivalent).
• Strong academic background in Chemistry, ideally with a second science.
• Experience in teaching or a willingness to be newly qualified.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration.

Preferred

• Experience with the International Baccalaureate or Scottish Qualifications.
• Background in outdoor learning or extracurricular leadership.
• Ability to contribute to a wide range of co-curricular and pastoral activities.
