The Opportunity:

As a Chemistry Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality science education to talented students across all year groups. You will help prepare students for top university placements and contribute to a department known for its academic rigor and innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Chemistry to students from Year 7 to Sixth Form, including IGCSE and OCR A specification courses.
  • Support students in achieving outstanding academic results, with a focus on developing independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Contribute to the department’s strong record of success, including high IGCSE and A-level results and Oxbridge university offers.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of a wide range of co-curricular science activities and competitions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine teaching strategies and resources.
  • Provide guidance and support for students applying to top universities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to departmental discussions and wider reading.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Chemistry at both GCSE and A-level.
  • Commitment to fostering academic excellence and student independence.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within a selective or independent school setting.
  • Experience with university application support or mentorship.
  • Familiarity with the Edexcel IGCSE and OCR A specifications.
  • Evidence of involvement in science competitions or extracurricular activities.
