The Opportunity:
As a Chemistry Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to reach their full potential through engaging and innovative teaching. You will be part of a dynamic Science department that values curiosity, creativity, and a strong academic foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a full timetable of Chemistry lessons to students of varying abilities.
- Develop and deliver engaging schemes of work that align with the school's curriculum and examination requirements.
- Support students through rigorous record keeping, personalized teaching, and challenging academic content.
- Lead and manage a minimum of two co-curricular activities per week.
- Contribute to the pastoral care of students by showing interest in their personal and academic development.
- Promote the school's values and ethos through exemplary behaviour and professional conduct.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Participate in meetings, INSET training, and the development of the school’s Self Evaluation and Development Plan.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong academic background with a good degree in a relevant subject, preferably Chemistry.
- Proven experience in teaching Chemistry at a secondary level, with a track record of achieving excellent public examination results.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their academic potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Commitment to the school's values and a willingness to be involved in all aspects of College life.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching at an international school or in a multicultural environment.
- Experience with Cambridge International IGCSE or other international curricula.
- Leadership experience, including the ability to lead co-curricular activities.
- Experience in curriculum development and resource creation.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
