Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Chemistry lessons to students across a range of age groups and abilities.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the school’s academic standards and student needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science faculty to share best practices and support student success.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Support the personal and professional development of students through mentorship and guidance.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Chemistry and incorporate new teaching methods and technologies.
  • Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of student progress through effective feedback and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Chemistry or a related subject.
  • Experience in teaching Chemistry at secondary level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of equity, respect, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in an independent or academically selective school.
  • Experience in developing and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Experience with using technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student mentorship.
