The Opportunity:

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will provide strategic leadership to ensure the continued success and development of the trust. You will be responsible for managing an income of £54m and ensuring effective use of resources across multiple schools. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of the trust and its impact on education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the financial strategy and management of the trust.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources across all academies.
  • Support the strategic development and growth of the trust and its schools.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Trustees, Members, and Central Team to drive the vision and mission of the trust.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with the trust’s goals.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance to ensure accountability and transparency.
  • Identify and explore new opportunities for local growth in both primary and secondary sectors.
  • Work closely with school-level leadership to maintain high standards of governance and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong financial management background with experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Commitment to supporting high-quality education for all children.
  • Experience in managing large budgets and complex financial operations.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector, particularly within academy trusts.
  • Knowledge of educational policy and governance structures.
  • Demonstrated success in driving organisational growth and development.
  • Experience with financial planning and forecasting in a multi-site environment.
