The Opportunity:
As Child Development Subject Leader, you will lead curriculum development, mentor colleagues, and inspire students. This is a key role in shaping a new and exciting direction for child development across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of an engaging and inclusive curriculum
- Foster a vibrant and creative learning culture within the school
- Support and mentor colleagues to deliver outstanding teaching
- Monitor and manage student progress and attainment data
- Implement intervention strategies to ensure students meet expected levels of progress
- Ensure effective schemes of work are in place for all courses
- Enforce school curriculum policies for assessment, target setting, and reporting
- Promote progression and continuity across key stages
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A good degree in child development or a related subject
- Proven experience of teaching child development in a secondary school
- Ability to collaborate with external partners and mentor colleagues
- Strong academic background and commitment to student development
Preferred
- Experience with new teaching and learning developments
- Demonstrated success in achieving strong examination outcomes
- Interest in pastoral and extra-curricular contributions
- Experience in leading and managing subject departments
