The Opportunity:
As a Chinese Early Years Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a bilingual curriculum that supports children's language and academic development. You will work closely with an English teacher to create an immersive learning environment that fosters both Chinese and English language skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with an English teacher to co-plan and co-teach bilingual lessons
- Deliver a curriculum based on the UK National Curriculum (Early Years Foundation Stage or Key Stage 1)
- Provide a strong foundation in Chinese literacy and language development
- Support homeroom duties and student wellbeing
- Contribute to the after-school activity programme, 'You Time!'
- Work with Teaching Assistants to enhance the learning experience
- Implement and innovate within the Chinese language immersion programme
- Ensure effective communication with parents and colleagues
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Fully qualified teacher with a current and relevant teaching license/qualification
- Experience as a class teacher or homeroom teacher
- Full working knowledge of the National Curriculum for England for Key Stage 1 or Development Matters guidance for EYFS
- Ability to innovate and collaborate with diverse teaching teams
- Excellent assessment for learning skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with children, colleagues, parents, and professionals
- Commitment to professional development in CAL and ICT
- Ability to work within and apply all school policies
Preferred
- Experience working with Chinese Language Learners or CAL teaching strategies
- Teaching in an international or bilingual school with the English National Curriculum or EYFS curriculum
- Demonstrated appreciation of the value of extra-curricular activities in student development
