The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chinese Teacher to join our MYP and DP programme. This role is ideal for someone with experience in teaching both Chinese A and Chinese B courses and a deep understanding of Chinese language, history, and culture. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, inquiry-based learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach MYP and DP Chinese A and B courses in accordance with IB standards
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that promote student-centred inquiry-based learning
- Support students in their academic and personal development through homeroom and PSHE responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a cohesive curriculum
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and well-being
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
- Communicate effectively with parents and students to support student success
- Adapt to a dynamic, international school environment and contribute to a collaborative team culture
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Undergraduate degree or higher in Chinese Language and Literature or Chinese Literature
- Recognized teaching qualification
- Proven experience teaching MYP and DP Chinese A and B courses
- Strong knowledge of Chinese language, history, and cultural heritage
- Fluency in Mandarin and excellent command of English
- Experience in a bilingual workplace
Preferred
- Experience teaching MYP Language Acquisition or DP Chinese A
- Demonstrated commitment to pastoral care and student well-being
- Experience in an international school setting
