As a Chinese Teacher – Secondary School, you will play a vital role in helping students develop their language skills through engaging and innovative teaching methods. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Chinese language lessons to Secondary School students.
  • Design and implement engaging and interactive teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to support development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum.
  • Support students in developing their language skills in both academic and real-world contexts.
  • Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and mutual support.
  • Stay up to date with current teaching methodologies and best practices in language instruction.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a full-time class teaching role.
  • A bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in languages or a closely related field.
  • A relevant postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS).
  • Fluency in both Chinese and English.
  • Experience teaching languages (Chinese) to a high standard.

Preferred

  • A master's or postgraduate qualification in a related subject.
  • Experience in teaching Chinese as a First Language from KS3 to (I)GCSE.
  • Experience working with students where Chinese is their first or second language.
