The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Classics and English Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on student learning and achievement. The role involves teaching A Level Classics and Key Stage 3 & 4 English, with the potential for leadership opportunities. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach A Level Classics and Key Stage 3 & 4 English (including IGCSE Language and Literature) to a high standard.
- Deliver engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, creativity, and academic success.
- Support students in achieving excellent results at both IGCSE and A Level.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
- Participate in the school's leadership structure, including the possibility of a middle leadership role.
- Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student progress.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience in the relevant subject area
- Proven track record of delivering excellent results in A Level Classics and IGCSE English
- Strong knowledge of the Curriculum of England and CAIE Subject
- Excellent English language proficiency
- Clear ICPC Check/Police Report
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role (e.g., Key Stage Coordinator or Deputy Head of Secondary)
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Familiarity with international education systems and standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a UK or international school setting
