The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Classics and English Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on student learning and achievement. The role involves teaching A Level Classics and Key Stage 3 & 4 English, with the potential for leadership opportunities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach A Level Classics and Key Stage 3 & 4 English (including IGCSE Language and Literature) to a high standard.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, creativity, and academic success.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results at both IGCSE and A Level.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
  • Participate in the school's leadership structure, including the possibility of a middle leadership role.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student progress.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience in the relevant subject area
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent results in A Level Classics and IGCSE English
  • Strong knowledge of the Curriculum of England and CAIE Subject
  • Excellent English language proficiency
  • Clear ICPC Check/Police Report

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role (e.g., Key Stage Coordinator or Deputy Head of Secondary)
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Familiarity with international education systems and standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a UK or international school setting
