The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Cleaning Operative to ensure that all areas of the school remain clean, hygienic, and in line with health and safety standards. This role is essential in supporting the school's mission to provide a welcoming and safe environment for students and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to the highest standards.
- Use cleaning equipment and materials in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Ensure all areas are tidy and presentable at all times.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Follow all school policies and procedures related to cleanliness and safety.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately.
- Adhere to the school's safeguarding and welfare policies at all times.
- Complete cleaning duties within the allocated time and to the required standard.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in cleaning or maintenance roles, preferably in a school or similar environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Reliable and punctual, with a good attendance record.
- DBS clearance (required for this role).
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a workplace environment.
- Experience with the use of cleaning equipment and materials.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on NJC Point 3.
- Flexible working hours Monday to Friday, 3.30pm - 8pm.
