Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Computer Science and IT, using Python as the primary programming language.
- Support students in preparing for A Level Computer Science and Cambridge AAQ Computing courses.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to develop and share teaching resources.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students to enhance their learning and independent study skills.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos of inclusivity and support.
- Participate in extra-curricular activities and college life.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training.
- Work closely with students to ensure they are well-prepared for the next stage in their education or career.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Computer Science and IT.
- Experience in teaching A Level Computer Science or equivalent courses.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages, particularly Python.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Willingness to support students in a variety of learning contexts.
Preferred
- Experience teaching post-16 students.
- Experience with Cambridge AAQ Computing: Application Development.
- Background in teaching Mathematics or Physics (for consideration of full-time position).
- Early Careers Teacher (ECT) with strong placement experience.
- Evidence of successful student outcomes and value-added data.
