Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Computer Science and IT, using Python as the primary programming language.
  • Support students in preparing for A Level Computer Science and Cambridge AAQ Computing courses.
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to develop and share teaching resources.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students to enhance their learning and independent study skills.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos of inclusivity and support.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and college life.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training.
  • Work closely with students to ensure they are well-prepared for the next stage in their education or career.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Computer Science and IT.
  • Experience in teaching A Level Computer Science or equivalent courses.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, particularly Python.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Willingness to support students in a variety of learning contexts.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching post-16 students.
  • Experience with Cambridge AAQ Computing: Application Development.
  • Background in teaching Mathematics or Physics (for consideration of full-time position).
  • Early Careers Teacher (ECT) with strong placement experience.
  • Evidence of successful student outcomes and value-added data.
