Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the curriculum and school standards.
  • Develop and implement high-quality teaching resources with support from the department head.
  • Manage the classroom effectively to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with support staff and other teachers to enhance student outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Support students in achieving high academic standards in computer science and IT.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of computer science and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the institution.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent evidence for overseas-trained teachers.
  • Proven experience in teaching computer science or information technology at the appropriate level.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching delivery skills.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for inspiring young minds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering innovative computer science curricula.
  • Familiarity with current industry trends and technologies in computer science.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) or working with diverse student groups.
  • Previous involvement in professional development initiatives or leadership roles within a school setting.
