The Opportunity:

A school is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Computing Teacher to join its expanding Upper School site. The role involves teaching across Key Stage 3 and A Level, bringing the subject to life for students in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Computing across Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) and A Level, including IGCSE and A Level syllabi.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that align with the school’s academic standards.
  • Support students in developing technical and analytical skills through practical and theoretical learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement a cohesive computing curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in computing education.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and teaching strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., BEd, PGCE, iPGCE or equivalent).
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • Experience teaching Computing to students across the secondary age range, including A Level.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK-based curriculum and assessment requirements for IGCSE and A Level Computing.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Proven track record in teaching and student engagement.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in an international school environment.
  • Experience with students who have English as an Additional Language.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Computing syllabi.
