The Opportunity:

As a Continuity Teacher - Maternity Cover, you will support students and families during a critical transition period. You will deliver a creative and engaging curriculum aligned with the English National Curriculum, while contributing to a supportive and inclusive school culture. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a comprehensive service for students and their families
  • Plan, develop, implement, and review a creative and engaging programme of study aligned with the English National Curriculum
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and colleagues
  • Contribute positively to the wellbeing of students and colleagues
  • Attend regular meetings with the academic team
  • Participate actively in the Extra Curricular Activity programme
  • Support the safe and effective running of the school campus

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Fully qualified teacher with QTS
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification teaching experience
  • Strong understanding of the English National Curriculum or Early Years Foundation Stage profile
  • Ability to nurture and challenge students of all abilities
  • Experience working with children who speak English as an additional language
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to child safeguarding and wellbeing

Preferred

  • Experience with international education settings
  • Familiarity with the Shrewsbury School network in the UK
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support
  • Leadership experience or willingness to take on leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures
