The Opportunity:
As a Continuity Teacher - Maternity Cover, you will support students and families during a critical transition period. You will deliver a creative and engaging curriculum aligned with the English National Curriculum, while contributing to a supportive and inclusive school culture. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a comprehensive service for students and their families
- Plan, develop, implement, and review a creative and engaging programme of study aligned with the English National Curriculum
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and colleagues
- Contribute positively to the wellbeing of students and colleagues
- Attend regular meetings with the academic team
- Participate actively in the Extra Curricular Activity programme
- Support the safe and effective running of the school campus
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Fully qualified teacher with QTS
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification teaching experience
- Strong understanding of the English National Curriculum or Early Years Foundation Stage profile
- Ability to nurture and challenge students of all abilities
- Experience working with children who speak English as an additional language
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Commitment to child safeguarding and wellbeing
Preferred
- Experience with international education settings
- Familiarity with the Shrewsbury School network in the UK
- Experience in pastoral care and student support
- Leadership experience or willingness to take on leadership roles
- Strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures
