The Opportunity:

As a Cover Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s teaching and learning needs by managing cover arrangements and ensuring continuity of education. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate cover arrangements across the school.
  • Support teaching and learning by ensuring timely and effective deployment of cover staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of cover assignments and monitor compliance with school policies.
  • Liaise with teachers, senior leaders, and external agencies to manage cover requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to cover staff to ensure quality teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of cover arrangements and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure all cover-related procedures are followed in line with safeguarding and data protection policies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s cover management strategy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing cover arrangements within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience in using school management systems and software.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or academy trust environment.
  • Knowledge of educational policies and procedures.
  • Experience in supporting teaching and learning through cover arrangements.
  • Experience with DBS checks and safeguarding procedures.
