As a Cover Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s teaching and learning needs by managing cover arrangements and ensuring continuity of education. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate cover arrangements across the school.
- Support teaching and learning by ensuring timely and effective deployment of cover staff.
- Maintain accurate records of cover assignments and monitor compliance with school policies.
- Liaise with teachers, senior leaders, and external agencies to manage cover requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to cover staff to ensure quality teaching and learning.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of cover arrangements and make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure all cover-related procedures are followed in line with safeguarding and data protection policies.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s cover management strategy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in managing cover arrangements within a school or educational setting.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience in using school management systems and software.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or academy trust environment.
- Knowledge of educational policies and procedures.
- Experience in supporting teaching and learning through cover arrangements.
- Experience with DBS checks and safeguarding procedures.
