The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support students during staff absences and ensure a positive learning environment. This role is essential to maintaining high standards of education and student behavior throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students and deliver planned lessons when teaching staff are absent.
  • Maintain good order and discipline in line with the school’s behavior management framework.
  • Support students in their learning and provide guidance during lessons.
  • Assist with break and lunchtime supervision when required.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the school during non-teaching hours.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and senior staff.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
  • Work flexibly to meet the demands of the role and support the school’s priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Commitment to high standards of behavior and student achievement.
  • Flexibility to work term-time only and during non-teaching hours.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or learning support.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Experience with behavior management strategies.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
