The Opportunity:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure students continue their learning when teachers are absent, playing a key role in maintaining classroom order and student engagement. This is a vital position that supports the smooth running of the school and the continued success of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate and deliver class work set by the teacher to students
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed in the classroom
- Uphold and enforce the school’s rules and ethos
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain good order
- Support and mentor students as needed
- Invigilate examinations in accordance with external and internal regulations
- Accompany staff on educational visits under the guidance of the trip organiser
- Carry out administrative tasks as required
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with young people
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively
- Commitment to upholding school values and policies
- Flexibility to perform duties during breaks and after hours
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Experience with exam invigilation
- Confidence in communicating with students and staff
- Experience in mentoring or supporting students
