The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support the smooth running of the school. This role is essential in ensuring continuity of education and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate cover arrangements for teaching staff across all departments.
  • Ensure timely and efficient deployment of cover staff in line with school policies and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of cover assignments and monitor compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Liaise with department heads, teachers, and support staff to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Support the school in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and staff.
  • Assist in the development and review of cover procedures and policies.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on cover arrangements and challenges.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure all cover staff meet the required standards and qualifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in a supervisory or administrative role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using school management systems and office software.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing cover staff or substitute teachers.
  • Knowledge of school operations and curriculum requirements.
  • Experience in a co-educational or music-focused school environment.
