The Opportunity:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will support teaching and learning across a range of subjects, ensuring continuity and quality when regular teachers are absent. This role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic school community and develop your classroom skills in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons across a variety of subjects to maintain student engagement and progress.
- Work closely with subject teachers to ensure consistency and alignment with curriculum standards.
- Support students through effective classroom management and positive teaching practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with the teaching team and senior leadership.
- Adapt quickly to different subjects and student needs, ensuring a smooth teaching experience.
- Contribute to the school’s culture by promoting its core values of equality, integrity, and ambition.
- Assist with pastoral care and enrichment activities where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience in a school or educational setting.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and the promotion of positive learning outcomes.
- Willingness to work term time plus inset days, with a part-time working pattern.
Preferred
- Experience in a secondary school environment, ideally with 11-16 age range students.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and current teaching practices.
- Experience with supporting students through pastoral care or extra-curricular activities.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with different subjects and teaching teams.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £22,354 to £24,206 per annum.
- Part-time working pattern of 37 hours per week, term time plus inset days.
