The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of student learning during teacher absences. This position ensures that students remain focused and supported, contributing to the smooth operation of the school. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes effectively during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task.
  • Maintain discipline and manage classroom behavior in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Follow lesson plans provided by teachers accurately and support student learning.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and teachers.
  • Adapt to changing classroom environments and support students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Promote a positive learning culture and ensure the safety and well-being of students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning and support.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as required to support the school’s daily operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum qualification of a relevant Certificate.
  • At least one year’s experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Strong ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with students and staff.
  • Strong organisational skills to follow lesson plans accurately.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting or previous cover supervision experience.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and diversity initiatives.
  • Knowledge of curriculum standards and teaching methodologies.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies for a range of student needs.
