The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Cover Supervisor to manage students in a shared teaching space, ensuring they remain focused and engaged with their tasks. This role is ideal for someone who wants to support young people without the responsibility of teaching or marking. You will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage student behaviour effectively and ensure a disruption-free learning environment.
- Support students in completing pre-set work provided by subject teachers.
- Maintain a purposeful and focused learning environment for all students.
- Work collaboratively with supervisory staff and senior leaders to address any issues that arise.
- Provide guidance and support to students who are not meeting expectations.
- Ensure students are engaged and on task throughout the day.
- Follow and uphold the school’s strong behaviour system and expectations.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least a grade C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and authoritative in a busy environment.
- Strong organisational skills and self-motivation.
- Commitment to supporting the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of young people.
- Experience in supporting students in a learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience of classroom management as a teacher or cover supervisor.
- Experience in working with young people in a pastoral or supervisory role.
- Understanding of the needs of students in a secondary school setting.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £16.35 per hour.
- Part-time, permanent contract with 32.5 hours per week.
